Outdoor Education Australia invites its members to attend the AABAT 2019 Forum to experience this rapidly growing field of experiential education.
Turning over a new leaf is the theme of the 2019 Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy Forum. Organisers see it as a fantastic opportunity to experience the transformational nature of Bush Adventure Therapy, and understand how it has brought about positive change in individuals, culture, practices, and research.

The forum will be held from 7 – 11 August at the Bornhoffen PYCY at Natural Bridge in the Gold Coast hinterland’s Numinbah Valley.
Speakers
The event offers a diversity of concurrent workshops, as well as highlight presentations from special guest speakers: Emeritus Professor Judy Atkinson, Dr Gregory P. Smith, Andy Hamilton and Wild Mob Youth Ambassadors. As well there is an optional pre-forum overnight expedition through surrounding hinterland, plus numerous pre-forum workshops on topics such as Bush Adventure Therapy 101, Equine Therapy, and a Bush Adventure Therapy Research Symposium in conjunction with Griffith University.
Activities
The 2019 Forum 2019 also has nightly bonfires, bar, music, optional morning program, social activities, and plenty of chill out areas on the property to relax.
As is the work that bush adventure therapy practitioners deliver, Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy forums are inclusive, collaborative, and experiential. Those interested in learning more about this exciting practice are encouraged to attend and make new connections with this welcoming group.
