“Venturing Out, Journeying Within”

This year’s Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy (AABAT) National Forum 2022 ‘Venturing Out, Journeying Within’, is a theme that explores the practical application of outdoor, nature-based experiences for the purpose of healing and enhancing our health and well-being in a number of dimensions including physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual and environmental health.

Dr Richard Harris (Co-author of Against all Odds – story of the 2018 Thai Cave Rescue; and author of Alfie the Brave, host of Real Risk Podcast & Co-Australian of the Year 2019) Adventure, Risk & Critical Decision-making

Rosemary Wanganeen (Kaurna Elder & Founder of Healing Centre for Griefology) Out of Grief Fear Into Intuitive Intelligence – The story of how Griefology found me through the wisdom of ancestors and mother nature.

Dr Scott Polley (Senior Lecturer / Program Director – Outdoor & Environmental Education at UniSA): The relevance of outdoor learning to assist in navigating contemporary society

Hosted by the Australian Association of Bush Adventure Therapy. 

AABAT represents all those who are working, studying researching or influencing policy in areas that are aligned with nature-based health & education initiatives, innovative health solutions, adventure therapy, outdoor experiential learning, outdoor youth and social work, solving mental health and social challenges through nature-based therapies and environmental health programs etc
