Hillbrook Anglican School is hosting a 2 day remote first aid course conducted byWilderness First Aid Australia. This is over Sunday 26 and Monday 27 of November.

Places are currently available and registration is via WFAA’s website.

Remote area personnel and outdoor trip leaders often require a more extensive training program than an Urban First Aid course. The WFAA 20 hour basic Remote First Aid course will give you extended knowledge and skills to deal with situations that may occur whilst in a remote location.

This three day course is compacted and focuses on stabilisation, treatment and evacuation guidelines of patients in remote & backcountry environments. More emphasis is placed on long term patient care management and specific injury evaluation.

The WFAA two day Basic Remote First Aid course utilses theoretical and practical knowledge and skills as a means to ensuring all participants are deemed competent should they have to respond to an emergency situation.

Assessment:

Students will undergo:

• 25 multiple choice question WFA written test
• CPR practical test
• BRFA practical test
