AIM OF OUR TRAINING
A 5-day non-residential wilderness first aid course for adventure guides, outdoor educators and instructors. It is designed to build on a basic first aid qualification, with advanced first aid skills for assessing and managing injuries and illness in remote outdoor environments. This course and certification is the standard in Tasmania for guides and educators responsible for the safety of groups in the outdoors.

Full Fee (Full Course / Refresher) = $307.68

Fees include 5 days of expert tuition, workbook, bandages, nationally recognized Statement of Attainment, and a Wilderness First Aid Certificate of Completion.

PREREQUISITES
Essential: outdoor recreation experience. Desirable: a current Level 2 first aid certificate (Provide First Aid)
CERTIFICATION
Participants who successfully complete the course and demonstrate competence will attain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment with the following nationally recognised units of competence:
- HLTAID003 – Provide first Aid
- SISOOPS305A – Provide first aid in a remote location
- SISXEMR201A – Respond to emergency situations
DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT
Knowledge and skills will be delivered and practiced through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, and outdoor first aid scenarios. Knowledge will be assessed through completion of a workbook and a multiple-choice question paper. Skills will be assessed through performance in practical activities each day, and response to first aid scenarios on the final day. CPR and use of AED is included.
